Our  Grand Conductress, Sister Marge Carney Plans

2013 - 2014  Grand Chapter Year.

Symbol:

The Symbol for 2014 HAND WOVEN BASKET

Woven Basket

Like a basket our lives are woven one row at a time.

The basket was chosen to remind us of our heritage and the traditions that are handed down from generation to generation.  We must retain the best from the past as we weave for the future.

FLOWERS for 2014 will be:
PINK ROSE:  My favorite flower.

LILY OF THE VALLEY: Chosen in honor of my family, the lily of the valley grew in my yard each spring as I was growing up and is the birth flower for my grandfather on whose Masonic heritage I joined Eastern Star.
SHAMROCK: A symbol of luck and good fortune.  According to the legend was used by St. Patrick to represent the Holy Trinity as he taught Christianity.
FERN with LADYBUG: A symbol of life everlasting and my first office of Martha.  If you look closely you may find a ladybug on the leaves.  This is to honor the present and past Grand Representatives of Missouri, who do so much to support our Order.

STRAWBERRY PLANT: Chosen to remind us that life's journey is sweeter when shared with a friend.
Colors for 2014 will be:
BLUE:  All shades from the deepest midnight blue to the blue of a bright sunny day, with emphasis on navy blue.

AMETHYST:  The purple hues found in each sunrise and sunset.
GREEN:  To represent to beauty of nature.
PINK:  A favorite color of mine chosen to remind us that love and friendship when combined with remembrance and awareness are values to cherish.
ANTIQUE IVORY: Reminding us of our traditions and heritage.

(All accented with Gold, Silver and Ecru Lace)
I feel it is an honor and privilege to serve our beautiful Order as we begin the journey to 2014.  I would ask that the Conductresses only wear the official pin on the ribbons.

Marge Carney, Grand Conductress
