10 Items Your Movers Cannot (or Won’t) Load on Their Moving Truck

So, you’re moving! What a busy and exciting time. New beginnings are always fun, but it is a lot of work to proceed. During this time, the more you prepare, the better off you will be. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you in your move: ten things that you can expect the professional movers not to move. This way, you can make other arrangements for these items.

1. Perishables

Professional movers can not move perishable food items. Rodents and bugs that seek these items may be attracted to perishable foods and become a problem in the future.

2. Live pets/animals

There is a liability risk of transporting live animals. They could get loose, and this poses so many different problems. Sometimes there are special handling requirements with live animals. For these reasons, professional movers cannot transport live animals.

3. Flammables

Flammables are a “no-brainer” when it comes to professional movers carrying these items. Anything could happen when transporting flammables, and they are dangerous.

Flammables are highly dangerous during a move.

4. Anything illegal

Professional movers can not transport illegal items because they cannot be legally responsible for these items.

5. Corrosives

Battery acid and any other types of corrosives are not to be moved by professional movers. These items may damage the truck or cause physical damage to a person. Because this is so risky, these items are not allowed.

6. Plants

Because plants require a separate license to transport, professional movers cannot move them as well.

7. Equipment that uses fuel

Anything that uses fuel is not to be driven by professional movers. Some professional movers will transport items that take fuel, but only if all of the fluids are empty. It is a case-by-case situation, so speak with your local professional movers about this.

Drain the fuel of any equipment you might have that uses it.

8. Precious valuables

Precious valuables should be kept with their owner, possibly physically transported in a personal car. The risk is too high when it comes to damage or loss, so this is why professional movers do not carry them. Make other arrangements for these valuables.

9. Liquid bleach

Liquid bleach is an active chemical that cannot be transported by professional movers. If liquid bleach spills, it can cause damage to goods. Also, it is a poison to a person if ingested. It is best to find another way to transport liquid bleach.

10. Pesticides

Pesticides are strong chemicals as well. They are not to be carried by professional movers because they may damage furniture if they come in contact with anything. Generally, liquid chemicals of any kind are not to be transported by professional movers at all.
